Curious if macro users can be banned?

I just had some dumbass Necro just keep spamming about a 1v1 that's being host by a certain guild.
..... 2-3 times per match ..... with *OR* without the other team being in the game ...

And each time she spammed 2 lines and did her Rank emote all at once, so obviously a macro
I also just received when I announced it in RA outpost, I warped to Kamadan and she spammed me 5 PM's in the span of about 2 seconds about how much it cost to attend (lol?)

...No one is THAT fast ...

So curious, would just the normal email address of theirs (I havent looked it up) be what I would use.

I can easily screenshot the spam + emote usage since each time she did all 3 in 1 motion.

---->>> If doing RA and you see a Necro spam about a 1v1 and her name has "Beth" in it .... if you team with her, leave.
All she does is spam, as mentioned, 2-4 times a match and carries no rez. <<<----

Yea I do the "Enter+Up+Enter" thing too, but when you see 2 lines of text + a deer emote all in 1 shot, it's a macro or something like it.

I think some keyboards can be set to do a certain emote when you hit a button. Something like the Guild Wars Zboard i think

To answer your question, to the best of my knowledge:

Macros = Ok. In the sense that ANet/NCsoft endorsed various pieces of hardware (the Zboard Fang, for instance) that, at their core, allow you to create multiple effects at the push of a single button.

BUT!

Botting = Bad.

So, you can use these to, for instance, perform one or more emotes at the touch of a button, perform a skill combo, streamline item switching, etc...

The big difference is YOU have to be physically there for it to be acceptable. This can't be something that you flip a switch/hit a button/open up a program and then walk away while it operates.

banned for using GW Zboard! That would be true irony, wouldn't it?
